Rio Salado College’s new non-credit English Learning Courses are designed for Spanish-speaking college and university educators. Develop your English language skills while learning how to teach your curriculum in English.

Teacher-centered Instruction

  • Courses are taught by Rio Salado College instructors who are experienced in working with second language learners.
  • Courses focus on integrating language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – into the classroom.
  • Courses taught in a supportive learning environment that offers assistance in reading and writing English content.
Certificate of Completion

Course Overview

  • The cost for each course is $250.
  • Courses are available in four different levels of English proficiency: Limited, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.
    • OEL001 - Beginning Teaching in American English I
    • OEL002 - Beginning Teaching in American English II
    • OEL003 - Intermediate Teaching in American English
    • OEL004 - Advanced Teaching in American English

English language courses are made possible through a collaboration with the Maricopa Community Colleges and Rio Salado College, the Arizona Mexico Commission and several Mexican governmental education agencies to help Mexican educators meet new English language instruction in Mexico.
