  • How and when financial aid is disbursed.
  • That all application information is treated with the highest level of confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Contents of your financial aid file, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the ability to request an appeal if you believe a mistake has been made.
  • Eligibility criteria for awarding and disbursing aid. To learn more, please review your Financial Aid Notification and other Terms and Conditions.
  • Conditions of any loan you accept. To learn more, please review your Financial Aid Notification and other Terms and Conditions.
  • Right to request a reduction or cancellation of your student loan. Remember that a student loan is a debt that must be repaid with interest; borrow only what you need.
  • Interest rate of your loan, the total amount to be repaid (or not to be repaid), repayment procedures, when repayment begins and the length of the repayment period.
  • National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is a central database that tracks your financial aid history. NSLDS contains all of your Title IV aid history. Loan information will be submitted to NSLDS and it allows you and authorized agencies, lenders and institutions to view all types of funding from Federal grants, Federal Stafford loans, Direct loans, Perkins loans, and Plus loans. It tracks loan servicers, account numbers, current balances, loan status, disbursements, loan types, loan periods, interest rates, school name and contact information, grant history, and remaining eligibility.
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy, how it is determined, and what happens if you do not meet SAP.
  • Requirements in the case of withdrawal, refunds, and repayment of financial aid. To learn more, please review the Return of Funds Policy.
  • Option to have your financial aid package reviewed upon your request if family and/or financial circumstances have changed.
  • Campus security and crime statistics, which are available through the Office of Public Safety.

It is a Student's Responsibility to:

  • Plan your enrollment effectively with the time frames in which you will receive financial aid. To be eligible, you must begin and end all coursework within the semester block you designate for your academic program. No coursework for your next semester block can begin until after the end date of your current semester block.
  • Pay Rio Salado College for any charges to your account not covered by financial aid. This includes unearned financial aid that must be returned if you withdraw early or fail to maintain your eligibility for financial aid while you are enrolled.
  • Establish a personal spending plan to meet your educational and living expenses.
  • Regularly review notifications sent to your Maricopa Official Student Email account and check your Student Center for information and updates about your financial aid.
  • Provide correct information at all times. Reporting false information is a violation of the law and may be considered a criminal offense.
  • Submit all forms required to complete the application process in a timely and accurate manner. Note: incomplete, insufficient and/or incorrect submissions will cause processing delays. We are unable to process rush requests for erroneous submissions.
  • Keep your parents or guardians informed of all financial aid requirements and deadlines if you are a dependent student.
  • Display behavior in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct when interacting with Rio Salado College staff.
  • Read, understand and retain copies of all information and/or forms that are sent to you and all other documents you sign.
