The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Certified Bookkeeping program helps to prepare students for a Certified Bookkeeper Examination. This program is designed to prepare students to work for CPA firms, tax preparation firms, corporate accounting departments, and small businesses or offer freelance bookkeeping services. The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Accounting and the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Accounting are also available.
Details
This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses within the program.
- Apply the fundamental principles and practices of accounting.
- Identify the financial statements and other records that a business is required to maintain.
- Explain the importance of effective internal controls in an organization.
- Calculate the necessary month-end adjustments.
- Record adjusting journal entries.
- Correct common accounting errors.
- Prepare bank and account reconciliations.
- Calculate wages, withholdings, deductions, and related payroll taxes.
- Record payroll entries.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare payroll reports.
- Calculate payroll liabilities including employer and employee.
- Explain the importance of timely payment of payroll tax obligations.
- Apply various inventory costing systems.
- Describe inventory valuation methods.
- Calculate depreciation using a variety of methods.
