Current and prospective Rio Salado College students in the fields of education, health or community services can now apply for a new scholarship. The Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Career Education and Training Scholarship empowers students to make a difference in their communities through health professions and community-based services.
The funding is available through the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Awards must be reapplied for term-by-term. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition, course fees, and books.
It is not income based so all are encouraged to apply. Applications take five minutes.
Deadlines
The application deadline for the Fall 2023 semester is Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (Arizona time). The scholarship remains open until April 18, 2024, for the Spring 2024 semester.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for these life-changing scholarships, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or admitted refugee
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file with Maricopa Community Colleges
- Declare a major in one of the following non education programs:
- Or declare a major in one of the following education programs:
- Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Early Childhood Education
- Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Early Childhood Education Management and Administration
- Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Foundations of Early Childhood Education
