A Campus Drive Making a Difference!
Rio Salado NSLS students, faculty, and staff joined together earlier this month to help combat hunger and homelessness in our community.
The effort started with a donation drive held on Rio Salado’s campus in Tempe to bring much needed items to share with UMOM New Day Center in the Valley. Employees and students donated infant care, hygiene, household, and cleaning supplies for the residents who temporarily call UMOM home while rebuilding their lives. Rio Salado’s NSLS (National Society of Leadership and Success) student leaders were at the forefront of this charge. The donation drive and subsequent sorting event aligned with national Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
“Homelessness is a pressing concern that impacts countless adults and children,” said Tara Hayman, our dedicated student president of Rio Salado’s NSLS chapter. “This effort is just one step forward to help those in need. I’m grateful for Rio’s support and the donations that will make a difference in many lives.”
