Do you have a knack for tinkering? Does your pulse race at the thought of breaking down complex equations into elegant solutions? Do you possess the soul of an inventor, an artist, or both? If so, mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 27, for the 11th annual Geeks Night Out event in Tempe.
Presented by the Arizona SciTech Festival and StateFarm, Geeks Night Out is a STEAM festival. Short for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, STEAM is a broad tent that invites in anyone with an urge to make things, use their imagination, and solve problems. Taking place at the Tempe Community Complex located at 655 E. Southern Ave, Geeks Night Out will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on March 27. The event is free to attend.
What to Expect at Geeks Night Out
The festival encourages interactive, hands-on learning opportunities. Expect to see some robotics, coding exercises, art displays, and maybe even some examples of forensic crime scenes. More than 60 organizations will be on site to present cool science experiments, live entertainments, participatory activities, and more. Rio Salado College is one of the community partners involved with the event. Rio Salado President Kate Smith will be one of the speakers at this event.
There will also be food trucks on hand to help you fend off any snack attacks.
