Are you getting ready to throw your hat into the professional ring? Looking for a job or interested in pivoting to a new career? You’ll want to attend our upcoming series of virtual workshops. Rio Salado’s Counseling and Career Services Department will be presenting “4 Steps to a Meaningful New Career,” a series of Career Change workshops hosted by Carole Redden, Rio's Career Services Supervisor, along with local employers and community partners acting as co-hosts.

The goal of these workshops is to offer practical knowledge and tips on how to build up your confidence as a job seeker, find out what you’re passionate about, develop personal branding skills, craft effective job searching strategies, and understand not only how to write a winning resume that can help you get a job interview but how to leave a solid gold first impression on your interviewer.

These workshops are free to attend and are open to students and the community. Those who register in advance will receive reminder emails and access to the recordings.

Register today!

What: The four primary workshops include Personal Branding, Effective Job Searching Strategies, Resumes & Cover Letters, and Interview with Confidence. Bonus workshops include LinkedIn Dos and Don’ts, Networking 101, and Workplace Professionalism. All workshops are offered via Webex.

It’s recommended that you attend the first session if you’re interested in this series, as that workshop will provide relevant information on creating and managing a personal brand that will come in handy while attending future sessions.

When: Workshops are live on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. AZ time. The schedule for workshops is as follows:

  • Feb. 13- Personal Branding
  • Feb. 20 - Job Searching Strategies
  • Feb. 27 - Resumes and Cover Letters
  • March 5 - Interview with Confidence
  • March 19 - LinkedIn Dos and Don'ts
  • March 26 - Networking 101
  • April 2 - Workplace Professionalism

Why: Students who engage in Career Services prior to graduation are more likely to see the value of their education and secure a new career sooner than those who do not engage in career services.
