Need help paying your tuition? Looking for some extra support to help cover your educational costs as you continue to chase your dreams? You better go open the door because that’s opportunity knocking on the other side. The Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation is opening their Fall 2025 General Scholarship Application from March 1 until April 30, 2024.
The Foundation’s General Scholarship Application casts a wide net for funding—you’re applying to hundreds of scholarships simultaneously with one application! These scholarships are made possible by the generous donations of the community and from funds raised by Maricopa’s EmpowerED campaign (more on that below). FAFSA is not required; all GPA’s are welcome!
After the application cycle closes on April 30, award notifications will begin going out in July 2025.

EmpowerED
EmpowerD is an initiative by the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation and the ten MCCCD colleges to raise funds to help students who are struggling to overcome financial barriers to accessing education. The campaign’s fundraising goal is $20 million; $9.3 million has been raised so far. If you’d like to help a Rio student in need, follow this link to help continue funding a Rio scholarship.
