This year has brought significant recognition to the college's dedication to fostering a culture of democratic participation, including its designation as a 2024 Most Engaged Campus for Student Voting, earning a Silver Seal for the 2022 campus voting rate from the National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) report by Tufts University, and receiving the prestigious 2025-2026 Voter Friendly Campus designation.
Among the dedicated students making a difference is Saffron Wells, Rio Salado College's nominee for the Student Voter Honor Roll, as highlighted in a recent Forbes article. Wells has been a key player in boosting student civic participation at Rio Salado. Her proactive efforts included leading multiple voter registration drives across Rio Salado locations, where she successfully guided numerous students through the registration process and encouraged their electoral involvement.
