Rio Salado and Windward Community College were awarded the ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation.

The American Council on Education (ACE) recognized Rio Salado College last week during a ceremony in Washington D.C. with the prestigious 2025 ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation. This national recognition, also presented to Winward Community College in Hawaii, celebrates institutions that have implemented bold and innovative strategies to address higher education challenges and create lasting change.

ACE recognized Rio's commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and student success, noting strategic initiatives and community partnerships that open doors and expand opportunities for all Rio Salado students.

"We are deeply honored to receive the 2025 ACE/Fidelity Investments Award for Institutional Transformation," said President Kate Smith. "This recognition affirms the tireless efforts of our employees, students, and community partners to create a more inclusive and accessible learning environment. At Rio Salado, we are committed to breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for all learners. This award inspires us to continue innovating to meet the ever-evolving needs of our students and community."
