Rio Salado College alum (and 2022 commencement student speaker) Cordero Holmes received a “Living the Dream” award from the City of Phoenix at its 37th annual Arizona MLK Awards breakfast at the Phoenix Convention Center on Jan. 13, 2023.

Congratulations to Rio Salado College adjunct faculty Dawn Chamberlain for receiving the Arizona Art Education Association’s Art Educator Secondary Education Division award.

Great news! Rio Salado College President Kate Smith is one of 4 women chosen as finalists for the Greater Phoenix Chamber’s 35th Anniversary ATHENA Awards in the public sector category!

The Winston and Dr. Jean Tease Social Justice Endowed Scholarship was established last fall as a tribute to Winston and Jean Tease. Winston Tease passed away in 2020. Dr. Tease continues to take part in Rio Salado events.

Ryan Quintana is one of four Rio Salado alumni who, along with two staff members, received full scholarships earlier this year to complete a degree program through the college’s partnership with the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC).

Rio Salado College students Cordero Holmes and Carolyn Schack were among 78 Arizona community college students honored at the 2022 All-Arizona Academic Team Celebration on Feb. 24.
