The Rio Salado Cafe is a sustainable teaching kitchen serving food creations to students, faculty, staff and the local community. We believe in preparing and serving sustainable food that nourishes the body and soul, and food made with ingredients locally sourced from farmers, ranchers and artisans who use humane labor practices. The Café plays an integral role in Rio Salado's Sustainable Food Systems learning programs. The Café features seasonal menus and strives for zero-waste generation through comprehensive recycling and composting.

RioFresh At-Home Meal Kits
Learn new techniques and concepts about food preparation in the comfort of your home kitchen! RioFresh at-home meal kits are educational and provide a wonderful meal for up to four people. Ingredient kits are for pick-up only at Rio Salado College’s Tempe location.
Community Education Workshops
Learn new techniques and concepts about food preparation in a low-pressure environment while having fun. Culinary workshops are hands-on and taught by professional chefs with years of experience in the restaurant industry. Registration is limited to 16 students.

Rio Salado Cafe Leadership
Rio Salado Cafe chefs and food preparers are passionate about preparing and serving delicious fare sourced from local sustainable foods providers, including farmers, ranchers, artisans and the Garden at Rio. Many efforts are taken to provide food in an eco-friendly manner and environment.
