Clarice Wziatek
With more than 12 years in higher education, I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their academic and personal goals. My experience as an Academic Life Coach at Rio Salado College has equipped me to understand the unique challenges students face, especially those who are first-generation or new to college. I’m here to provide personalized support, empowering students to develop strategies for success. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel seen, heard, and ready to thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy relaxing with my spouse and our two rescue dogs, Gizmo and Gadget, road-tripping through Arizona’s beautiful desert landscapes, and dancing to 80s music.

I’m excited to walk alongside you as your Academic Life Coach! My role is to ask questions that inspire self-discovery and guide you toward meaningful action. I started college unsure of my path, and after exploring different careers, I found my calling in educational counseling. My journey showed me the power of self-reflection and pursuing what truly matters to you. Together, we’ll work on creating a growth mindset and finding ways to build self-confidence, resilience, and self-care skills. Regular coaching sessions offer a space for ongoing growth, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s make this journey together!

As a first-generation college graduate, I understand the challenges of navigating college when you’re the first in your family to do so. I spent 14 years in K-12 education as a teacher and principal, and I bring that background to my role at Rio Salado College as an Academic Life Coach and Avanzar Program Manager. My goal is to support both students and coaches, ensuring you receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed in college and beyond. In our sessions, we’ll work together to help you reach your goals, whether they’re academic or personal. I’m excited to see all you’ll accomplish!

Helping students work toward their goals and connect with their purpose is what drives me as an Academic Life Coach. With nearly 17 years at Rio Salado College, I’ve had the privilege of supporting students in various roles, from academic advisor to Student Life coordinator. I know the impact a caring mentor can have, as I found my direction thanks to supportive people in my own life. Originally from Minnesota, I have a background in Economics, Sociology, and Counseling. Outside of work, I enjoy following baseball, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I look forward to helping you on your journey!

With more than 14 years in higher education, I’m passionate about helping students overcome challenges and stay motivated. As a first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand how confusing the college experience can be, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. I grew up in central Phoenix after moving from northern Mexico, and I’m a proud Latina. When I’m not working, I love spending time with family, listening to podcasts, and enjoying Arizona’s stunning sunsets. Let’s work together to help you reach your goals and become the best version of yourself!
