Rio Salado College is required to disclose to students in accordance with federal regulations whether a program meets or does not meet state requirements for professional licensure or certification. Please review the disclosures below covering your program of study and associated licensure or certification if applicable. Licensure
The Associate in Applied Science in Addictions and Substance Use Disorders along with the embedded Level I and Level II Addictions and Substance Use Disorders CCL’s are designed to meet the coursework requirements for a Licensed Addiction Counselor Technician in the State of Arizona.
For students seeking certification or licensure in a state other than Arizona, you may need to fulfill additional coursework or training requirements prior to applying for your certification or licensure, and additional requirements including but not limited to: obtaining a fingerprint clearance card, passing licensure or certification exams, completing supervised work experience in the practice of substance abuse counseling, and/or a supervised practicum.
NOTE: Students in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah should not enroll in the Associate in Applied Science in Addictions and Substance Use Disorders or Level I and Level II Addictions and Substance Use Disorders CCL programs at Rio Salado College because Rio Salado College does not meet the academic requirements for those states. If a student located in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, or Utah plans to seek licensure/certification and employment upon graduation in another state, the student may complete an attestation form to that effect. The State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners does not certify or license Prevention Specialists in Arizona.
