Licensing Disclosures: Addictions and Substance Use Disorders

The Associate of Applied Science in Addictions and Substance Use Disorders is designed to meet the academic requirements for a Licensed Substance Abuse Technician in the State of Arizona. For students seeking certification or licensure in a state other than Arizona, you may need to fulfill additional requirements prior to applying for your certification or licensure including but not limited to: further coursework or training, obtaining a fingerprint clearance card, passing licensure or certification exams, completing supervised work experience in the practice of substance abuse counseling, and/or a supervised practicum. Review the licensure disclosures page for information on state boards and program availability in your state regarding whether Rio Salado’s Associate of Applied Science in Addictions and Substance Use Disorders meets or does not meet the academic requirements of a given state. Students in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah should not enroll in the Addictions and Substance Use Disorders program at Rio Salado College because Rio Salado College does not meet the education requirements for licensure or certification within these states. 

Licensing Disclosures: Certificate of Completion in Substance Use Prevention and Intervention

The Certificate of Completion in Substance Use Prevention and Interventions is designed to meet the academic requirements of the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium domains for the IC&RC Prevention Specialist Examination.  The State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners does not certify or license Prevention Specialists in Arizona. 

For students seeking certification or licensure in a state other than Arizona, you may need to fulfill additional coursework or training requirements prior to applying for your certification or licensure, and additional requirements including but not limited to: obtaining a fingerprint clearance card, passing licensure or certification exams, completing supervised work experience in the practice of substance abuse counseling, and/or a supervised practicum.

Students in Louisiana, New York, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming should not enroll in the Certification of Completion in Substance Use Prevention and Interventions program at Rio Salado College because Rio Salado College does not meet the education requirements for licensure or certification within these states

Dental Hygiene Accreditation Status: 2021-2028

The program in dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. 

Licensing Disclosures

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Hygiene degree is designed to meet the academic requirements for a Licensed Dental Hygienist in Arizona. The program is only offered and available to students located in Arizona.

Licensing Disclosures

The post baccalaureate educator preparation programs and the bachelor’s degree educator preparation pathway are designed to meet the academic requirements for a certified educator in the State of Arizona.

The Rio Salado Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education , Post Baccalaureate Teacher in Residence, and Post Baccalaureate Traditional programs  MUST be completed in Arizona with initial licensure in ArizonaThese programs are only offered and available to students located in Arizona. 

Rio Salado College does not convey that all states are eligible for licensure reciprocity. Students must seek initial licensure in Arizona and then pursue reciprocity, where available, in other states. For additional information on reciprocity outside of Arizona please refer to the listing below of state licensure Boards provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
