National Society of Leadership and Success
The NSLS chapter at Rio Salado College was started in 2013. As of 2021, Rio’s chapter has over 1,000 members. Our local chapter is part of a larger national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members.
Students are invited to join the NSLS at Rio Salado based on academic achievement, number of credits completed, and a desire to help students succeed and improve their leadership skills.
Foundations of Leadership -- Participation Requirements
Foundations of Leadership is the initial level of the National Society of Leadership & Success. To become inducted members of the NSLS, students must participate in the following activities at this level:
- Orientation
- Leadership Training Day
- Three Success Networking Team meetings (SNTs)
- Three speaker broadcasts
These activities typically take approximately 10 hours total over the course of a semester.
In addition to the Foundations of Leadership, there are Advanced and Executive levels for further participation.
Membership Benefits
NSLS members have access to:
- Nearly $500,000 in scholarships.
- An NSLS job board.
- A letter of recommendation from the NSLS.
Other benefits include:
- Learn from leaders during exclusive Speaker Broadcasts (former Presidents Barack Obama and George Bush—and many more).
- Meet new friends and develop networking skills.
- Visit with success coaches to overcome challenges and make your way to success.
Importantly, the NSLS leadership program teaches the interpersonal skills that employers seek to give you an edge in the job market. Hear directly from current members as they share how their experience has changed their lives.
Membership lasts a lifetime and inducted members can purchase graduation regalia. Everyone who puts in the effort has the opportunity to better their lives.
