Your completed program, degree or certificate will post to your official Rio Salado College transcript 25 business days after your graduation application is received.
Please note: Post-Baccalaureate and Teacher-In-Residence students receive a "Recognition of Academic Achievement" that does not post on their official transcripts.
Your diploma is mailed approximately two weeks after your degree and/or certificate is posted to your official transcript.
No. Rio Salado College processes graduation applications throughout the year. Note that there is a deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony.
Contact a Rio Salado College academic advisor if you have questions about when you will complete your program, degree or certificate. An advisor can help you set up a program checksheet and academic plan to track your progress.
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your prior college or university (including military credit, CLEP and DANTES) to Rio Salado College's Records Department. You can order Maricopa District transcripts through your Student Center.

Yes. Some examples include applying for an AGEC-A in addition to an AA degree or applying for a Level I certificate, a Level II certificate and an AAS degree in Addictions and Substance Use Disorders.
The catalog year of your program is determined from the academic year of your initial enrollment. If you have maintained continuous enrollment, the requirements for your program do not change from your catalog year.
Regardless of how many prior college credits you have, you must meet the requirements for a specific program to graduate. Working with an academic advisor is the best way to determine how your prior education and experience can apply to a degree or certificate.
You must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours at Rio Salado College to receive a degree or most certificates. The specific requirements can vary for programs. It is best to work with an academic advisor to ensure you meet the requirements for graduation.
Replacement diplomas feature the original dates when the diploma was issued. However, replacement diplomas include the signatures of the current registrar, college president, governing board president and chancellor. The signatures may differ from those on your original document.
- The cost for each replacement diploma or diploma cover is $5. You are notified by email when payment is due.
Processing time is usually five business days plus delivery time after your payment is received. To receive a replacement, include the following information in your email request:
- Your full name and mailing address
- Indicate whether you want your replacement item:
- Delivered by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Diplomas are delivered to the address on file in your Student Center at my.maricopa.edu.
- Picked up by you at Rio Salado College's main location in Tempe. You are notified by email when it is ready for pick up.
